Just curious...?
While travelling throughout the beautiful countryside of England, I noticed that most of the faucets in the homes never pre-mixed the hot and cold water. That is, even when only one faucet exists to dispense the hot and cold water, the water remains seperate...the scalding hot flowing down on the left of the stream and the cold on the right. I found it problematic to get warm water to wash your face without stopping up the drain. For what purpose do you have that requires the water to remain unmixed while being dispensed?

Here are a few more: - Why such lame showers? - Why do you have that cold water tank in your attic? - Why is there no outside tap for your garden hose? - Why do you set your timer so that you have hot water for only 2 hours per day?
Here's some advice though: The Brits are VERY touchy about this issue (even though they're glad to be ribbed about most other idiosyncrasies.) They just insist there are excellent reasons.
