Please help me with this recipe, I don't understand this one part.?
The LAST sentence where it says to cut 1/3 off each side... please read and tell me if you understand what they're saying. 
If the Marzipan only covers the top of the cake, I don't understand what I'm exposing on the side?
Knead marzipan and 2 drops green coloring in large bowl until color is evenly distributed. Dust work surface with powdered sugar. Roll out marzipan on sugar to 12-inch-diameter circle, sprinkling with powdered sugar as needed to prevent sticking. Spread reserved 1/2 cup buttercream over top of cake. Using rolling pin as aid, drape marzipan over top of cake. Press gently to adhere. Trim marzipan flush with top of cake; reserve trimmings. Brush excess powdered sugar off marzipan. Using long sharp knife, cut 1/3 inch off each side of dessert to expose strawberries
apparently the marzipan covers a strawberry topping. If I am assuming correctly then the recipe makes some sense tome. It actually states 1/3 inch rather than 1/3 off the side. 1/3 inch is equal to about 3/8 inch and would reveal the strawberries underneath and provide a nice decorative touch.

How to Make a Diaper Cakes
Diaper cakes are a wonderful idea of presenting a surprise package to an expecting mother. The number and type of baby items you put in to make a diaper cake, determines the size of cake and its number of tiers. Baby items may include patterned diapers, baby hygiene products, bottles, pacifiers, baby towel, toys and so on.
Steps to Make A Diaper Cake:
1. Apart from baby items to make a diaper cake, you will also need cake decoration stuffs such as artificial roses, ribbons, baby confetti, a cardboard and rubber bands.
2. To make a diaper cake, use at least 10 diapers for the upper tier. Open and tape the first diaper in a jellyroll method around a baby lotion bottle. Similarly, open other diapers and continue rolling them and taping them on the bottle unless you have used all 10 diapers. To make a diaper cake tight and firm, use rubber bands and double-sided tapes to tie around each tier.
3. Use the remaining diapers (around 50 in number) for the bottom tier. However, do not tie them in a similar fashion. Do not open them, but place them around the bottle one after the other so that they surround the bottle. Use double-sided tapes to tie the first tier firmly with the second.
4. Fun part to make a diaper cake lies in decorating the diaper cake. Cover all rubber bands and tapes with colorful ribbons. Use baby accessories and items such as a cute bib, to make the cake more decorative.
5. After finishing with the entire process, wrap the diaper cake with a cellophane paper and decorate it with ribbons and pins.
To make a diaper cake is not a tough task, but requires time, patience and creativity. The more of these elements one puts in to make a diaper cake, the more one may expect the diaper cake to be attractive.
