How opening gas valve in a closed room can kill people?
I heard that some people kill themselves by closing all doors and windows in their apartments and opening the gas stove valves since the gas consist of methane and ethane that are not poisonous so what really kills them?
Because oxygen is being excluded.
Doors and windows are not airtight. The methane will displace the normal air in the room and the person will be left with no oxygen.
